In order to successfully participate in the summer school each student should bring a laptop. The minimum requirements are:

• relatively recent (e.g. max. 3 to 4 years old)
• at least 4GB RAM
• a wifi card
• at least a few GB of free disk space
• one of the following operating systems: Windows 7 or 8 (and probably 10); Mac OS X; any recent Linux distribution

The cleaner your installation is, the better (i.e. try to remove unnecessary applications). Please double check if your laptop is free of viruses and/or malware (several free virus scanners can be found on the internet, e.g. Microsoft Security Essentials).
